A Variety of Needs
Audubon strives to meet the academic, cultural, social and physical needs of its students both inside and outside of the classroom. A variety of activities and programs exists to meet those needs. 1) Click to the left to view ongoing programs or 2) read below about some examples of activities and programs that come at various times throughout the year.


Events and Programs at Audubon Throughout the Year
In addition to the ongoing activities and programs listed in the menu to the left, Audubon has a variety of programs and activities that happen at various points throughout the year, including:

Young Authors/Pulitzer Prize Ceremony
This program challenges all students in the school PreK-8 to become young authors and write their own books. The program culminates in a Pulitzer Price Ceremony where students are honored for excellence in fiction, science fiction, illustration and other categories.
Math and Science Nights
Audubon holds math and science nights for parents several times throughout the school year for parents of different grade levels to come learn more about the Everyday Mathematics program, learn how you can better support your child's mathematics education, and to make and take home fun activities and games.
Art Fair
Audubon's annual art fair results in fantastic art works by all grade levels, which teachers organizing their students' artwork around a class theme, including environmental, cultural, social or geographical themes. See photo gallery from Art Fair '06.
Science Fair
Audubon's annual science fair, led by science teacher Nonilon Urgel, allows 6-8th graders the opportunity to stretch their scientific minds. Parents are used as judges and are invited to come view the projects as they are displayed in hallways and classrooms on Science Fair Day.
Literacy Nights
Join Audubon teachers, students and parents for an evening of celebrating the joy of reading and writing.   Come participate in activities such as bookmark making, fairytale reading, and browse the Scholastic Book Fair.

Pre-K Summer Camp

Mother Goose Story Hour
On alternating Thursday mornings, Audubon hosts a Mother Goose Story Hour, held in Audubon’s community room, which is located on the lower level. Anyone with a Pre-school aged child or toddler is welcome to attend.  After a craft activity, stories are read to the children by parents and refreshments are served.  This is an excellent opportunity to meet your neighbors. Please use the Hamilton Street entrance which opens at 8:45 a.m.
