Assignments and First Day of
School—September 2nd
Class lists will be posted in the
hallway outside the office on September
2nd, the first day of school, and staff
members and other volunteers will be
stationed on the playground with
complete lists to help families and
students find classrooms. Most students
received class assignments on their
report cards in June, and there have not
been significant changes.
Scholastic Book Fair—September 9th -
September 25th (COMMUNITY WELCOME)
Audubon’s Scholastic Book Fair, offering
a variety of wonderful children’s
literature for all elementary grades,
raised approximately $10,000 for the
school last year. These funds were used
to improve classroom libraries
throughout the school, purchase a
magazine subscription for the entire
2009 school year for every child in the
school, and purchase needed classroom
supplies for teachers. Not only do
families benefit from the book fairs at
Audubon, but so does the entire school.
The Book Fair can always use parents to
work a two hour shift.. If you’re
interested in helping out or have
questions, please contact Trinda Cutler
at: 773.230.5305 or email
tlloydcutler@aim.com. Also, to preview
books, view our schedule, volunteer or
create your very own wishlist, check out
our bookfair website http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/audubonschool.
The bookfair will run from September
9th-25th. Student and Teacher preview
days are September 9th and 10th. The
book fair will also be OPEN for these
special school events: Family Fun Fair,
Sunday September 14th,
