Parent
Volunteers
Audubon welcomes parents' involvement and input
in many aspects of the school environment and
educational process. Here, parents with a
great diversity of talents, interests and
schedules are coming together to work with the
teaching staff and administration to participate in
events,
initiatives or organizations that are so
critical to the success of the school and to
help make Audubon into a progressive, dynamic,
rich learning environment.
And we are always
welcoming new parent volunteers into our
committees, meetings, events and classrooms. Volunteer
opportunities can accommodate full-time or
part-time working parents or stay-at-home
parents. Parents who plan to volunteer in the
school for more than five hours a week will be
required to undergo a background check. Below
are some recent initiatives at Audubon for which
we invite all parents to participate. Please
follow the links for additional
information.
APTP

in 2006 on the premise that more involved

Friends
of Audubon
Friends
of Audubon is a parent-run, non-profit
organization that was formed in 2006 to create,
market and manage fundraising events and

needs as identified by the administration.

Audubon
Explorers After School Program
Audubon Explorers After School operates a
variety of academic, cultural and athletic
classes for Audubon students. Opportunities
exist for parent volunteers and community
members to assist with these classes. If you
have a particular skill, interest or activity
you'd like to share with the Audubon Explorers
and you are available to volunteer weekday
afternoons, email rovershiner@cps.k12.il.us
or click
here to learn more about the existing after
school program.
