"My name is Lourdes Valenzuela and I am a Third grade teacher.  Although I have been teaching for over twenty years I still find every year a new challenge and continue to learn exciting things.  I began my career in teaching while studying at California State University, Los Angeles where I volunteered in several neighborhood pre-schools in East Los Angeles. My degree is in Early Childhood education and I have also taken many courses in Bilingual education.  I taught kindergarten for fifteen years, but am now totally in love with third grade!  I am a mother of two college age students and enjoy time with my husband and family,  as well as travel, cooking and reading." --Ms. Valenzuela
