Partnerships
Audubon has partnerships with several
organizations that are very valuable in
providing academic and artistic resources, that
have greatly increased the number of learning
opportunities available to our students. Please
read about some of them below:
Com
Ed Partnership
Provides
support to increase student’s aptitude in
math,
science, and technology through sponsoring the
Chicago Math and Science Initiative. This
partnership provides $25,000
annually for staff professional
development, instructional materials, and

Chicago
Botanic Garden Partnership
This
partnership engages students, their families,
and educators, in community building science
learning activities. The primary goals of this
partnership are to both increase students’
opportunities to participate in real-world
experiences with the sciences outside of the
school setting, and to challenge students to
develop exceptional skills in critical thinking,
creative problem solving, and technology, as
well as support basic conceptual understanding
in science.
These goals are uniquely supported by the Center
for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at the Chicago
Botanic Garden (CBG). First, the Garden provides
students the opportunity to develop
sophisticated scientific understanding of life
cycles, adaptations and biodiversity through
plant biology.
In addition to supporting rigorous
plant-based science, the Botanic Garden provides
Chicago
youth with exposure to the natural environment
that will instill in our students an
appreciation and respect for nature and an
awareness of the global environmental impact of
human activity.
